North ( Usina) Beach might be what you’re looking for if you want a low key relaxing day by the ocean or Intracoastal waterway. There are two campsites available, a picnic area, restrooms, showers, a boat ramp and delicious seafood restaurants to choose from.
Vilano Beach is the place to go if you are looking for an adventure. Besides the variety of vacation rentals, Vilano has several parks, The Vilano Fishing Pier, Sea Doo rentals, and parasailing. Vehicles are allowed on the beach and if you visit Surfside Park you can enjoy a picnic lunch under a shelter or even charter a deep sea fishing boat or sail boat to round out the days adventure.
Anastasia State Recreation Park is a favorite with nature lovers. This state park is a protected bird sanctuary and has five miles of beautiful sandy beaches complete with lifeguards and rental equipment such as beach chairs and umbrellas. There are also a variety of activities available throughout the park. Hiking, fishing, nature trails, canoeing and volleyball are a just few of the activities that make this an outdoorsman’s dream day at the beach.
St. Augustine Beach is located on Anastasia Island where in designated areas you can drive your vehicle right onto the white sandy beach. There is a fishing pier and bait shops if you feel like casting your reel for the catch of the day. Butler Beach is located on Anastasia Island and rich in history. Named after a local business man, Frank Butler, who in 1920 helped establish Butler Beach as one of NE Florida’s few “Black only” beaches. Today Butler Beach’s sugar sand beach and natural sand dunes are enjoyed by everyone. The Frank B. Butler Park provides off-beach parking, dune walkover, showers, restrooms and picnic tables. Its unspoiled natural dunes make it the perfect place to have a picnic lunch with a beautiful view of nature.
Crescent Beach is located in the southern area of St. Johns County. The ability to drive vehicles onto the beach makes this a popular beach destination for locals and visitors alike. *St. Johns County has 3 wheelchairs specially designed to roll on the sand so everyone can experience the beauty the beaches have to offer. Chairs are rented on a first come first serve basis.
